Are the Indiana Pacers better today than a week ago?

Friend of the show and host of Kevin’s Corner, Kevin Bowen joins the show to talk with Big Joe and Greg Rakestraw who is filling in for Jeff Rickard.  He talks about the changes the Pacers have made and how that will better them going forward.

Are the Indiana Pacers better today than they were a week ago?

“I think they are yeah.  I’m all for change and glad Kevin Pritchard didn’t just run it back and honestly he’s been pretty drastic.  Fans have been going away from that with seven free agents a week ago and none of them will be in a Pacers uniform in the upcoming season.  I think we got a lot younger, a lot more versatile around the perimeter.  We got a lot bigger.  I think they’re better, I don’t know how much better they are in immediacy like this year.  I don’t think you’re that much better.  If any at all.  I think they could maybe go from the five seed that they were this year to maybe the six or seven seed this coming season.  But I think looking two or three years down the road, this core is really intact.  There’s no unrestricted free agents on the roster for next summer.  Domantas Sobonis and that extension, just what his future looks like in Indiana.  That’s the biggest storyline down the road but, if Victor Oladipo can get fully healthy for next season, like not three months from now.  An entire eighty-two game season, I think you have a pretty good core in place to challenge some of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.
