Martin Rennie, head coach of the Indy Eleven, joins The Fan Morning Show with Jeff and Big Joe to talk about Indy Eleven’s success so far in their season. Martin Rennie talks to Jeff and Big Joe about the defensive success of Indy Eleven in their recent games. Martin Rennie also discusses how the USA women’s soccer team is performing on the global stage.
“Your defense is unbelieavable what have you told these guys?”
“Well it’s really the whole team working hard. I think when you defend well from the front and you keep the ball well then it’s hard for the other team to score. They have a saying soccer: if you don’t have the ball you can’t score. So we’re doing a good job of keeping the ball and also when we lose it doing our best to get it back quickly. So it’s been going well.”
“How much do you pay attention to what the girls are doing right now and how impressed are you by them?”
“I think that the girls are doing great. They’re obviously one of the favorites and one of the strongest countries in women’s soccer and have been for a very long time. It’s nice to see them doing so well. I do follow it and my daughters play and they’re watching it as well and it’s nice to have them learn from players of such a high standard. It’s nice to see them doing so well especially over in Europe where there is now so many teams that are improving.”
