Qualifications have come and gone and curt Cavin joins DD to break it all down. Now that the field is set, all eyes are on next weekend for the big race.

On the underdog story of Kyle Kaiser:

“It certainly worked out from a competition standpoint, that it was David playing Goliath. I’d say it was pretty similar in ’95 when team Penske didn’t make the race and little teams knocked them out. But you have to remember that McLaren is ane ven bigger organization then Team Penske. So from that standpoint, we haven’t seen something like that.”

On what makes qualifications so different:

“There’s a difference between trying to qualify as fast as you can and trying to have a car that’s good in race traffic. So after we got through qualifying yesterday, now we have a practice that will be race simulation. The action on the race track right now looks very much like it does during the race.”

Curt Cavin is the co-host of Trackside, which airs every night during the month of May from 7-8pm. Keep tuning in to 1070 The Fan to stay up-to-date with all the latest Indy 500 news!
