Fox Sports Indiana’s Jeremiah Johnson joined JMV off an up and down stretch for the Pacers without Stars Victor Oladipo and Malcolm Brogdon. Whether Justin Holiday or TJ McConnell have been more important to the Pacers success so far this season, Myles Turner progressing recently, and looking ahead as the Pacers take on the top of the Eastern Conference over the next few weeks.

On TJ McConnell leading the 2nd unit:

“Atlanta was a tough loss and you’re thinking that you might be without McConnell for a week with the ankle injury, Brogdon isn’t on the trip and you look down the bench at who else you have that can play PG. McConnell ends up playing and is calm and makes sure the right guys get the basketball. TJ Warren was the star (vs Charlotte) but McConnell deserves a lot of credit for that win.”

On if Malcolm Brogdon’s injuries should make Pacers fans concerned:

“I don’t know if concerned is the right word because I think that’s close to panicking, I think it’s problematic but to me the foot was kind of the red flag. It’s what caused him to drop to the 2nd round and gave him issues last year. For this back injury though, they’ve done the MRI’s and Nate has said there is nothing to worry about long term so as long as his foot is good you’re just chalking this up to bad luck and having 3 or 4 things in a row.”
