BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The UCLA Bruins held off the Indiana Hoosiers Friday night at Assembly Hall in Bloomington 72-68.
UCLA led by as many as 13 and took a 10 point into halftime 35-25. The Hoosiers cut it to as close as two, but couldn’t secure a lead in the second half.
Indiana also had a stretch in the first half where they didn’t make a field goal for more than seven minutes.
The Hoosiers cut it to 70-68 on a three-point play from Malik Reneau with less than a minute to go, but couldn’t score after that. Mackenzie Mgbako missed a three-pointer that would have sealed the win for the Hoosiers.
Luke Goode led Indiana in scoring with 16 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
UCLA played 10 players and they all scored. They were led by Tyler Bilodeau who had 12 points.
Indiana (15-11, 6-9 in the Big Ten) is off until February 23 when they play Purdue at 1:30. Pregame coverage starts at 12:30 pm on 93.1 WIBC.
UCLA improves to 19-7 and they are 10-5 in the Bug Ten. They play Minnesota on February 18.
