The Indianapolis Colts hired Lou Anarumo as their defensive coordinator and one of his former players discussed why he thinks his former coach is right man for the job to get the Colts defense back on track. Super Bowl winning safety Bernard Pollard joined the show on Tuesday and discussed his time as a member of the Purdue Boilermakers, where he was coached by Anarumo in the early 2000’s.
He was my coach my sophomore and junior years and I became the player I did from learning so much from Coach Anarumo. He demanded a lot, but to this day he’s my dawg. – Bernard Pollard on the impact Lou Anarumo had on him at Purdue
Pollard said Anarumo got the best out of him at Purdue and why he thinks he’s a perfect fit for the Colts are trying to do on defense in 2025.
He’s going to look to his leaders, look at his players and develop them and put them in position to win. He made me the player I was in college and the NFL, and I was better for it.
Pollard also discussed what he thinks of the Super Bowl matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, his thoughts on the current NFL product and why he doesn’t like what he’s seeing and the mindset you have to get in to play in the Super Bowl.
