NCAA Wins Appeal of Eligibility Ruling

DENVER — The NCAA has scored a victory in its ongoing battle to defend its eligibility rules.
On Friday, a federal appeals court in Colorado overturned a lower-court ruling that granted a fifth year of eligibility to dozens of recently graduated student-athletes.
The initial lawsuit against the NCAA had requested that those athletes be allowed to return to school under the new “five in five” eligibility model. The order does not affect similar rulings by state courts.
