Training camp is underway for the Purdue Boilermakers, and the opener against Northwestern is less than a month away. After practice today, Jeff Brohm announced his 2018 team captains.
There are eight in total – four on offense, four on defense.
The two quarterbacks David Blough and Elijah Sindelar along with running back D.J. Knox and center Kirk Barron are the offensive captains, while linebacker Markus Bailey, safety Jacob Thieneman, defensive tackle Lorenzo Neal and punter Joe Schopper are the defensive/special teams captains.
Jacob Thieneman is a local product out of Noblesville, and he attended Guerin Catholic High School.
Expectations are high for Purdue this season following their 7-6 campaign in 2017 and winning the Foster Farms Bowl. The Boilermakers open the season on Thursday, August 30 vs. Northwestern on ESPN.
