INDIANAPOLIS – Win and you are in.

That’s the playoff story for the Colts (9-6) in Week 17.

If Indianapolis beats the Titans (9-6), they will be in the playoffs. This matchup has been flexed to 8:20 PM on Sunday night, marking the Colts’ first Sunday or Monday night game of the regular season.

The Colts could actually still win the AFC South, too.

For that to happen, the Colts would need to beat the Titans on Sunday night and have the Texans lose to the Jaguars, in Houston.

What we know about the AFC entering Week 17 is four of the six playoff teams: Chiefs, Chargers, Patriots (AFC East Champions) and Texans. But 3 of the 4 division crowns remain up for grabs, as do all the seeds.

Here are the playoff scenarios for the Colts in Week 17:

  • If the Colts win and the Texans lose, the Colts will win the AFC South and host a Wild Card Round game on Saturday, Jan. 5 or Sunday, Jan. 6. If the Ravens also win in Week 17, the Colts would be the No. 4 seed. If the Ravens lose to the Browns, then the Colts would be the No. 3 seed.
  • If the Colts win and the Texans win next Sunday, the Colts will make the playoffs via the Wild Card and be the No. 6 team, traveling on the road for the Wild Card Round of the playoffs on Saturday, Jan. 5 or Sunday, Jan.
  • If the Colts lose, they will miss the playoffs, finishing 3rd in the AFC South and a game out of the Wild Card picture.
  • The Colts would also get into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed, with a tie AND a Pittsburgh or Baltimore loss.
