Clark Returns from Injury, But Fever Falter in 80-61 Loss to Golden State

INDIANAPOLIS–Despite having a nine-point lead early in the game, the Indiana Fever lost to the Golden State Valkyries Wednesday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse 80-61. Fever guard Caitlin Clark returned from a groin injury to score 10 points and dish out six assists.
After trailing 23-21 at the end of the first quarter, Golden State outscored Indiana in the second period 20-9. They held the Fever to shooting 31% from the field and 22% from three-point range.
Golden State outrebounded Indiana 47-36 and led by as many as 23. They were led in scoring Veronica Burton with 21 points. She also had eight rebounds and six assists.
The Fever were led in scoring by Kelsey Mitchell with 12 points.
