Kevin Bowen joins DD to talk about the last night’s draft, and if the Pacers made a good pick or not in drafting Gorga Bitadze from Georgia. The guys also talk about the Pacers future in terms of how the roster will shape out with 3 centers on the team now, and free agency still coming up.
On Gorga Bitadze being picked:
“I was little bit surprised, I will say from the little, and very little that I’ve seen from him he does look like a guy that’s not going to be any sort of euro stash. I do think he’s put up the numbers in the best leagues over there which is notable. I do think he is somewhat NBA ready.”
On making a trade:
“I think you have to take a chance, Indiana is never going to be a hot bed for free agents. With the Warren deal you really have just north of 30 million. You have assets on your roster with these three big guys. I think you have to move one of them, you have to take a chance. I don’t think you’re going to be able to go into free agency and sign two starters, not with 32 million.”
