INDIANAPOLIS — Purdue has hired Barry Odom as its new head football coach.

Odom spent the last two seasons as head coach at UNLV, leading the team to consecutive nine-win seasons for the first time in program history and appearances in the Mountain West Conference championship game both years.

Before UNLV, Odom served as head coach at Missouri from 2016 to 2019. He guided the Tigers to winning seasons and bowl games in 2017 and 2018 before being let go after a 6-6 record in 2019.

Purdue’s athletic department says Odom’s leadership and competitive drive align with the program’s goals of returning to a standard of excellence.
