INDIANAPOLIS–The Indiana Pacers are hanging on to shooting guard Lance Stephenson a little while longer.
Stephenson is in his third stint with the Pacers. He signed a 10-day contract on January 1. The Pacers have chosen to give Stephenson a second 10-day contract. Per team policy, the terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
In five games so far, Stephenson is averaging 14 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game.
Stephenson became the first player in NBA history to score 20 points off the bench in the first quarter of a game when the Pacers lost to the Brooklyn Nets 129-121 January 5. He finished that game with 30 points.
He had a double-double a few days later (16 points and 14 assists) when the Pacers beat the Utah Jazz 125-113.
