Caitlin Clark made her much-anticipated return to the court on Wednesday against the Golden State Valkyries, after missing the last five games with a groin injury.

Unfortunately for Clark and the Fever, her return did not translate to on-court success, as Indiana fell 80-61, dropping them to 9-10 on the year. It’s been an up-and-down season for Indiana, after an offseason filled with excitement and high expectations. They’ve beaten some of the best teams in the league, including the Minnesota Lynx in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship, while falling flat on their face against far less strenuous competition, like the L.A Sparks and the Valkyries. Clark has, at times, flashed the other worldly talent that made her a superstar but has also been plagued by injuries and inconsistent play. It has been a maddening exercise to witness if you’re a Fever fan.

So what can Clark and the Fever do to get back on track with the halfway point of the regular season fast approaching?

During the Wednesday edition of The Ride With JMV, Fever color analyst and 2011 Indiana Miss Basketball Bria Goss joined the show and discussed what both team and star player need to do to right the ship. James Boyd from The Athletic and The Fan Morning Show also hopped on, and gave even more insight into what needs to happen. Listen to those conversations and more down below, or wherever you get your podcasts.
