[Indianapolis, IN]- The Indiana Fever have a new President of Basketball Operations, and it is a familiar face to Indiana professional basketball.

Kelly Krauskopf replaced Lin Dunn, who is taking a senior advisor role with the team.

Krauskopf is no stranger to the Fever, serving as the President and General Manager for the team from 2000 to 2017. She hired Dunn as the Fever head coach in 2008.

Krauskopf joined the Wake Up Call with KB and Andy to share her return to the team.

“It’s good to be back where my heart is in Women’s Basketball, and obviously the Indiana Fever,” Krauskopf said.

With her return to the Fever, Krauskopf has high aspirations.

“For me it’s about building consistency of winning and championship banners,” Krauskopf said, “Being an iconic WNBA franchise from a historical perspective. We were fortunate to draft Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark, it sets you up to build through them and get more banners in the rafters.”

Krauskopf also ran through her checklist in her first offseason.

“First couple of items obviously is preparing,” Krauskopf said, “We have the expansion draft coming up in December. Then we have free agency, and Kelsey Mitchell is a top priority. We have the ability to core a player, which is similar to the franchise tag in the NFL. It’s an easy one for me, because the back court of Clark and Mitchell is about as dynamic as you can get, and they were just getting started. Then going forward, really just looking at filling some of the holes and the needs to put around the style of play we want to play.”

Krauskopf left the Fever in 2017 to oversee the Pacers esports team. In 2018 she became the Assistant General Manager for the Pacers. She had held that position since 2019.

During Krauskopf’s first stint with the Fever, Indiana made the WNBA Finals three times. Indiana would win their first WNBA Championship in 2012, taking down the Minnesota Lynx three games to one.
