On Friday night, Indiana trailed for most of the game. To start today’s game, the Pacers would get off to a good start against the Heat. Bennedict Mathurin got things started with a layup followed by a pair of threes from Myles Turner and then Miami was forced to call a timeout one minute and forty-one seconds into the game. In total, Indiana would have an eight-point lead on four occasions before going up by double figures. With 1:40 left in the quarter, Pascal Siakam converted a fadeaway jumper to make it 25-15. Siakam scored the final seven points of the quarter for Indiana, to ensure a 28-20 lead after twelve minutes. He led all scorers in the first quarter with those seven points. Miami’s leading scorer was Kevin Love with six points.

2. Second Quarter

After being in control for most of the first quarter, Miami would creep back into the game. Miami would cut its deficit down to a field goal with 9:49 left in the half following a Duncan Robinson layup. Miami would draw within two again on the following possession with a Bam Adebayo free throw line jumper. Indiana went on a 9-0 run to take its largest lead of the half. Miami countered with eight points to make it 43-40 with a Nikola Jovic layup. Indiana would eventually take another double-digit lead with 1:50 remaining in the half when Mathurin converted a layup following a Haywood Highsmith turnover. At halftime, Indiana’s advantage was 52-49. Siakam, once again, led Indiana in scoring in the quarter with seven points. He led all scorers at halftime with 14 points. Miami’s leading scorer was Duncan Robinson with 11 points. Both teams shot 40% from three, but Miami converted two more than Indiana. Tyrese Haliburton struggled in the first half, shooting 2/8 but dished out six assists.

3. Third Quarter

Indiana’s offense in the third quarter caught fire and outscored Miami in the quarter by seven points. It didn’t start off so well, as the Heat threatened to take their first lead when Terry Rozier began the second half scoring with a field goal. Indiana would score immediately after that, thus preventing Miami from that opportunity. Following Adebayo’s three-point play, Indiana was on top 57-54. Rick Carlisle’s team went on a 14-2 run following that play from Adebayo to take a 71-56 lead after two free throws from Mathurin. Indiana’s largest lead in the quarter was sixteen points with 3:50 left in the third quarter courtesy of a Mathurin layup. Miami did outscore Indiana by six in the final 3:50 to trail 85-75. Turner poured in 13 points in the quarter to lead all scorers. Adebayo trailed him with 10 points in the period. Turner was now leading all players in points scored with 24. Mathurin was a rebound shy of a double-double after three quarters.

4. Fourth Quarter

Through thirty-six minutes, the Heat never really went on a run or prevented Indiana from scoring for long stretches of time. That sort of changed in the final quarter because they were on fire from three-point range. Duncan Robinson drilled a three with 5:37 left in the game to tie it for the first time at 97. Haliburton was held in check for the first forty-three minutes, and then he hit back-to-back threes to put Indiana on top by six points. Miami never drew within one possession in the final 5:10. Miami could not stop Indiana’s offense from scoring because every time there was a chance for Miami to make it a one possession game, Indiana scored. The dagger was delivered by Myles Turner with three from the right wing with 52.7 seconds left that made it 115-108. The Pacers ended their two-game losing skid with a 119-110 win over the Heat.
