OMAHA, NE.–After winning its first game in Omaha Friday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost to Oklahoma 6-2 in their second game at the College World Series.

Aidan Tyrell was charged with the loss after allowing five runs, two of them earned, over three innings of relief for the Irish. For Notre Dame, Carter Putz was perfect at the plate going four-for-four with a run scored. The rest of the lineup only had three hits.

Notre Dame scored its two runs via a 375-foot David LaManna home run in the top of the sixth.

“We just have to take it one game at a time. This group is really good at doing that,” said LaManna after the loss Sunday.

Notre Dame will be looking to avoid elimination Tuesday afternoon when it faces Texas A&M at 2 pm. If Notre Dame wins that game, they will play Oklahoma on Wednesday at 2 pm.
