DeForest Buckner Talks New Defensive Scheme + More!

Since joining the Colts in 2020, DeForest Buckner has been one of the few pillars of performance and consistency.
Through all the turmoil at quarterback, and all the turnover and changes on defense, Buckner has continued to produce, anchoring the middle of the defensive line with his running mate Grover Stewart. Together, the two form one of the best defensive tackle duos in the league. Now, with another new defensive coordinator calling plays, and with yet more quarterback questions dominating the headlines, Buckner is preparing for another season in the NFL with the hopes of helping lead the Colts out of the mire of mediocrity they’ve been trapped in for far too long.
During the Thursday edition of The Ride With JMV, DeForest Buckner joined John live at Grand Park ahead of a nighttime training camp practice. Their conversation touched upon:
- Learning a new system under Lou Anarumo
- Embracing competition at camp
- The team’s culture
- Their expectations on defense
- And more!
Listen to that conversation below, and tune into The Ride With JMV weekdays from 3-6pm on 93.5/107.5 The Fan!
