Former offensive lineman for the Colts Joe Reitz joins The Ride with JMV to discuss the Colts’ training camp. Joe thinks back on his days at the Colts and how he felt going into training camp. Joe talks about how he feels that training camp can solidify a team for their season and build up that much needed bonding. Joe also talks about how he feels the current Colts team will perform looking at training camp.

“There’s nothing more difficult than football training camp.”

“No doubt you hit the nail on the head. It’s a yin and a yang for sure. I mean I can remember being ten days out or nine days out and you’re almost getting physically ill. I remember guys that would get physically ill because you know the grind you are about to undertake. You know it’s gonna be hot and your body feels the best it is going to feel for the next six months. You have to prepare yourself for day in and day out battles for the next six months. That’s the first part but the other part is that you’re excited. You’re excited for season and you have those emotions so a lot of it is balancing emotions with yourself. You know training camp isn’t going to be that bad and it never is. The anxiety and worry about anything in life is always worse than when you’re actually in it. The sights and the smells of training camp bring you back and I love that the Colts are going away for training camp. I think that is so important. I loved when we went up to Anderson. Obviously the facilities at Grand Park are top of the line but there’s something about going to a hotel and bonding with each other. I think that has a big impact on the season.”
