Rick Carlisle Preps Pacers For Postseason Run
There are only four games remaining in the regular season and the Pacers have their ticket punched to the playoffs once again. While they’d love to replicate their Eastern Conference Finals appearance from a year ago, they know the road to a championship is always winding. Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle made his weekly stop at The Fan Morning Show with KB, JB & Jeff and discussed the team’s win over the Nuggets and used it as a measuring stick for their postseason aspirations.
We went through a ten to twelve game stretch where almost every game was a clutch game. We won a lot of those games. And to win those games you need guys like Haliburton and Siakam, who are fearless. – Rick Carlisle on the Pacers’ prep for tough games
Other topics in the interview were his thoughts on Monday’s national championship game, situational awareness, Tyrese Haliburton handling double teams and a whole lot more, including TJ McConnell’s seemingly endless supply of backcourt steals.
It’s something that is very rare, that players have that sort of sixth sense. He has a lot of fun with it. If someone on the team gets one, he’ll yell “Stay out of my bag!”. It’s one of the things that makes our group a special group. – Rick Carlisle on TJ McConnell’s backcourt steal skills
