Haliburton Breaks Assist Record That Has Never Been Done Before
Tyrese Haliburton has made NBA history by accomplishing a feat no player has achieved before.
During a game against the Chicago Bulls, the Indiana Pacers’ star guard became the first player in league history to record 500 assists in a season before reaching 100 turnovers.
Haliburton entered the game with 499 assists and 99 turnovers.
Just 33 seconds into the match, he delivered an assist to Andrew Nembhard for a three-pointer, sealing his place in the record books.
By the end of the game, Haliburton added 12 assists and committed only one turnover, bringing his season totals to 511 assists and 100 turnovers.

His assist-to-turnover ratio of 5.11 is one of the best in the league, showcasing his exceptional efficiency as a playmaker.
Haliburton prides himself on making the right plays and keeping the ball moving for his team.
“I’m just trying to make the right play,” Haliburton said. “I know I’ve been up and down this year, but this is what I do. I pride myself on taking care of the ball and getting guys open shots. We have a lot of guys making shots right now, so that definitely helps. The way our system is and what we’ve built the last few years, the ball is always hopping. Guys are trusting me with the ball in my hands and I’m just trying to make the right play.”
