We’re five weeks into the NFL season and we’ve seen some truly memorable moments and players so far. We’ve also seen some truly heinous performances (looking at you, Deshaun Watson).  Let’s take the good with the bad from Sunday’s Week 5.  Unfortunately, we’re starting at a place Colts fans are all too familiar with.

Bad Scary: Jaguars Stretch Dominance Over Colts To A Decade

There are certainties in life.  The sky is blue, the grass is green, and the Colts absolutely cannot beat the Jaguars in Jacksonville.  Once again, the Jaguars, who were winless heading into the game, got their groove back and defeated the Colts in Jacksonville to stretch their dominant streak to 10 straight years.  How is that even possible?  The Jaguars have had more downs than ups in recent history yet have still found a way to right the ship when the Colts come to town.  For the Colts, as much as they don’t want to admit it the streak has to be in their heads at this point.  The defense was atrocious and made Trevor Lawrence look like an MVP candidate with career best numbers.  It’s not good for the Colts, who fall to 2-3 and are already 0-2 in division games with the Titans up next.  A loss in Week 6 and the Colts can kiss any glimmer of hope for playoffs away.

Good Scary: Ravens/Bengals Deliver Football Porn

Was it as good for you as it was for me?  A candidate for Game of the Year had to be the Week 5 showdown between the Ravens and Bengals.  AFC North division games always seem to have a little something extra on them and this one added even more to it.  The Bengals have gotten off to another slow start while the Ravens have recovered from their own early slog.  Both quarterbacks were incredible with Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow combining for nine touchdowns and one interception and throwing for 740 combined yards.  Derrick Henry showed he was worth the big payday and Ja’Marr Chase is upping his asking price with every performance.  The Ravens came out on top in overtime and I can’t wait for the encore in Week 10.

Good Scary: Survivor Pools Nationwide Mourn More Stunning Upsets

If you are still alive in a survivor pool heading into Week 6 then I need visual proof and would like to know what it’s like to be a wizard because it seems completely impossible that anyone is still legitimately alive and well in these things.  Week 1 started the purge of survivor pool teams with the Patriots upsetting the Bengals.  Week 2 saw the Saints rout the Cowboys, Bucs over the Lions, short-handed Packers over the Colts and Vikings over 49ers.  Week 3? Broncos over Bucs, Panthers stun the Raiders, Rams beat the 49ers, Commanders shocked the Bengals.  Week 4: Broncos beat the Jets, Falcons topped the Saints.  And in Week 5, Jaguars got their first win, the Cardinals pulled off a W over the 49ers and the Giants shocked the Seahawks at home.  Again, if you’re still alive I need to see receipts.  I love all the upsets as it proves the old adage that any team can win on Sunday.  We’ll see what Week 6 cooks up next.
