As the sign-and-trade with the Milwaukee Bucks officially goes through, Malcolm Brogdon is now an Indiana Pacer for real.  He joins the show to talk with DD to talk about this next journey for him and his excitement to get started with the Indiana Pacers next season.  He talks what his goals will be with the Pacers in 2019-2020 and his journey in the NBA.

How anxious were you coming in to the NBA as a second rounder, starting off in the Summer League?

“I was very anxious, you know as a second round pick.  You aren’t treated like a first round pick.  First round picks have a little more leeway, a little more room, and confidence from the people around them.  As a second round pick, you have a first audition and if it’s not up to par they move on to the next person.  You don’t get much time.  So I knew that I had to come out and impress from day one.  Whether that was, you know the first day of conditioning.  I wanted to be in great shape.  Or being the last one in the gym.  I would be the guy helping in the community, whatever I had to do.  I wanted to impress, I wanted to make people know that I belong here and I could help the organization.”

What was your impression of the Indiana Pacers when you recently joined?

“Exactly what I thought coming in, a class A organization. A great front office where everybody seems to be on the same page.  They have a lot of confidence in this team, they’re not out trying to find the biggest star.  They want Victor to be their star, they’re happy with the guy they have and they want a team to build around him.  I think they have a great coach in Coach McMillan and he’s done a great job with this team.  They’re one of the more defensive minded team and I think that’s special and will get them over the hump.”
