INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Fever dominated the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse 88-71. It was a game where they led by as many as 21 points and improved to 6-5 on the season.
Fever guard Caitlin led Indiana in scoring with 20 points. Connecticut’s leading scorer was Tina Charles. Charles, like Clark, also had 20 points.
The game was full of tension. The Sun were called for five technical fouls and one flagrant foul while the Fever were whistled for one technical foul and one flagrant foul. In one instance, Clark, Charles, and Marina Mabrey were all assessed technical fouls in the third quarter. Jacy Sheldon of Connecticut was also penalized with a flagrant one foul.
Late in the game, Indiana’s Sophie Cunningham committed a flagrant foul on Sheldon. That led to a fight and the ejections of Cunningham, Sheldon, and Lindsay Allen.
The Fever shot 42% from three-point rage while the Sun only made 14% of their three-point shots (3-21). Indiana also outrebounded Connecticut 38-27.
