BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The Indiana Hoosier football program has never begun a season 10-0…until now.

The Hoosiers gritted out a 20-15 win over the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday.

They overcame losing wide receiver Myles Price on a special teams play to an injury during the game, Jameir Johnson getting nailed with a targeting penalty which forced him to be ejected from the game, and the news that offensive lineman Drew Evans was out for the rest of the year because of an injury in practice this week.

They led 17-3 at the half thanks to passing touchdowns thrown by Kurtis Rourke to Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper. They also got a field goal by Nicolas Radicic.

In the second half, Michigan stormed back by scoring 12 unanswered points. They had a chance to tie the game after scoring a touchdown but couldn’t convert the two-point conversion.

Then the Hoosiers got a 22-yard punt return from Ke’Shawn Williams that set up a 41-yard field goal by Radicic to make the score 20-15. Michigan couldn’t get another score after that.

Williams led the Hoosiers in receiving with 6 catches for 70 yards. Rourke was sacked four times and threw one interception, but he still completed 17 of 28 passes for 206 yards and the two touchdowns.

Indiana heads into a bye week this week, but will face the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes on November 23.

Michigan drops to 5-5 with the defeat.
