IU RB Justice Ellison On Fast Start And Hot Offense

The Indiana Hoosiers are 6-0 for just the second time ever, and their high-powered offense has been a big reason why.
Through all 6 games, they have yet to trail. They’ve gone over 40 points in 5 straight games and have won every contest by at least 14 points. The 16th ranked Hoosiers are in fact averaging 47.5 points per game and have put up 1,892 total passing yards and 1,202 yards on the ground. Overall, they have 39 touchdowns in 2024 and have scored a total of 285 points.
One of the key cogs in the Hoosiers offensive operation is running back Justice Ellison. Ellison leads the Hoosiers in rushing yards with 409 and has also scored 6 rushing touchdowns. During the Wednesday edition of The Ride With JMV, Justice joined the show and gave some insight into what has led to the Hoosiers high-powered offense.
“It’s been I think due to the preparation and the focus we’ve been doing in the offseason, in the summer, and also in the season. I think give credit to the coaches and the players on our team, [they’ve] really been striving to be at their best every single time we lace up the cleats, and when you try to be your best every single time you go out there, it’s going to breed a lot of success, because you’re always extending the full potential that you want to be. No one’s getting warm fuzzies, or trying to get comfortable, but everyone wants to grow, and there’s always room for everybody to improve. There’s always areas for everyone to tweak their game, and you can see that in the pudding on Saturdays. What we may not do as well on Saturday one week, we do better the next week.”
Ellison also spoke about if he could have imagined this type of success early on.
“I used to actually go in the stadium, and I would go all the way to the top of the stadium, and I would visualize everything that [is] happening right now. I had my mind already set because I knew the challenge that we had, and I knew the work ethic that we had as well, and that is the best formula or equation so that we can be able to have success. We have great guys and great rooms to be able to excel at a high level, and it’s been great to experience it, but there’s a lot more to achieve. There’s not anyone trying to be satisfied, we want to win more, we want to improve, we want to be in the history books. I want to be able to come back here 20 years down the line with my family and be able to say ‘We did that. We enjoyed that season, and we did something that hasn’t been done, or hasn’t been done in a long time.’ So that’s been our focus this past few weeks since we’ve been winning.”
