Colts Tyquan Lewis Placed On IR

Tyquan Lewis, a key defensive end for the Indianapolis Colts, has been placed on injured reserve.

Lewis has been instrumental in strengthening the Colts’ defense.

Having started his career at Ohio State University, where he earned accolades for his defensive prowess, Lewis was drafted by the Colts in 2018 as the 64th overall pick and quickly became a pivotal part of their defensive success.

Tyquan Lewis has experienced several notable injuries throughout his NFL career:

2021: Suffered a right leg patellar tendon rupture in Week 8
2022: Suffered a left leg patellar tendon rupture in Week 8
2024: Placed on IR due to elbow injury in week 4

Tyquan Lewis signed a contract extension with the Colts in March of 2024. The deal was worth $12 million, with $7.7 million guaranteed.

As he recuperates, the Colts face the task of maintaining their defensive momentum without Tyquan Lewis, Deforest Buckner (OUT) who is on IR for 3 more weeks, Kwity Paye who is battling a quad injury and Sampson Ebukam who is out for season.
