I’ve said it before, I’ll definitely say it again.
They should name a wine after Vinatieri right now because much like a fine wine, Vinatieri makes your mom and grandma really, really happy.
He makes us all happy.
Time and time again the GOAT has made his legendary trot out on the field and buried huge and impressive kicks.
Since we’re doing a “Colts countdown to kickoff” (for some reason I read that in the Lucas Oil Stadium PA guy’s voice), and we’re 45 days away, how about 45-year-old Vinny’s 57-yarder during last year’s preseason game against the Ravens.
This was good for Monday Night Football for multiple reasons.
For one with Jason Witten saddling up in the booth for the year, it was important they got used to seeing bombs.
And two, anything good/decent/exciting(?) that happens during their preseason broadcasts makes it sting a little less that you’re probably ignoring your wife’s chores and your kid’s activities to see an exhibition football game therefore people stick around to watch.
Anyways, here’s to Vinny booming some more clutch 3-pointers in 2019. Take out some vino, pour a glass, and toast the GOAT because like your finest wine….he only gets better with age.
(That’s what it’s supposed to be, right?)
