The Chicago Cubs season came to an end after a 2-1 loss in 13 innings to the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field in the National League Wild Card Game.

So did one fan’s run with the team.

Jon Bryant, 32, has been an avid follower of the team since late 2015, but after the heartbreaking loss last night, he’s decided to call it quits.

“Yeah it was a good run.” said Bryant. “It’s been a magical ride here. Really wanted to go out on top, but not all stories have fairytale endings, right?”

Bryant has removed all Cubs pictures from his Facebook, updated his profile picture which formerly featured the “W” flag, and his Twitter header is now blank.

Even though his run with Chicago has come to an end, Bryant is excited about the possibilities of joining another winner in the future.

“It’s an exciting time. There’s a lot of really good teams out there. I’ll never get my time with the Cubs, but right now what’s most important is finding another winner who I can tweet about constantly to get me through the day.”

A quick peak into his likes on Twitter will show Bryant has begun taking interest in the Los Angeles Lakers, Rams, and Boston Red Sox.

Still trying to keep his baseball title hopes alive? We’ll see in the next month.
