Jaylon Jones Discusses New Defense & Competition
In the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected Jaylon Jones out of Texas A&M.
He was the third corner of the draft that Chris Ballard selected, JuJu Brents (second round) and Darius Rush (fifth round) being the other two. Brents is currently competing with Justin Walley and Jones for the other corner starting on the opposite side of Charvarius Ward.
Through two seasons, Jones has appeared in all 34 games, starting 27 of them. He’s coming off a breakout season where he logged 100 total tackles (fourth on team), 12 passes defensed (first on team), two interceptions, three tackles for loss, and one forced fumble.
