Cincinnati Bengals v Los Angeles Chargers

Week 11 was the most stacked card on the Sunday slate this NFL season thus far.  Huge division games, playoff implications galore and all around just really entertaining football.  Chiefs/Bills, Ravens/Steelers, Packers/Bears, Seahawks/49ers and Bengals/Chargers all delivered in their own way and outside of a couple of one-sided affairs the games were all mostly competitive.

Good Scary: Harbaugh Has Chargers Winning, Believing

Every team should have been in on wanting Jim Harbaugh as their head coach.  The writing was on the wall for him at Michigan.  Once they won the national title, the sanctions were coming for the Wolverines and Harbaugh was going to jet.  Yet, teams didn’t want to touch him because he had some baggage and/or might be a little weird.  Well, how do you like him now?  Harbaugh has won everywhere he’s gone and unsurprisingly has the Chargers four games above .500 and not blowing games like they usually have.  He’s got Justin Herbert locked in and the defense playing great.  He’s firing everybody up in the organization and his coaching and style have everyone believing.  He’s got to be near the top of the list for Coach of the Year and every team that passed on him should be feeling like complete idiots.  I love Jim Harbaugh as much as he loves football.

Good Scary: Josh Allen, Bills Finally Slay Chiefs

The Chiefs-Bills showdown lived up to the hype.  The top two teams in the AFC squared off in Orchard Park and delivered another classic, this time with Josh Allen throwing the Bills on his back and leading them to a 30-21 win and handing Kansas City their first loss of the season.  Allen was spectacular and it looks like the Chiefs were finally looking ordinary.  Can that hold up if they meet again in the postseason?  Who knows.  But at least for one game, the Bills were the better team.

Bad Scary: The Bearded Losers Strike Again!

If your coach has a beard, it may be time to hand him a razor.  Matt Eberflus, Jeff Ulbrich, Kevin Stefanski, Mike McCarthy, Brian Callahan all have beards and all lost in Week 11.  Eberflus and Ulbrich are the main culprits of coaching buffoonery with Mike McCarthy in the side car.  So many bad decisions on the field and facially and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better.  Ulbrich, if he wasn’t already an interim coach might get fired the way the Jets have completely cratered while Eberflus continues to make some of the most moronic in-game decisions and then doubles down on those decisions in the post-game to make him sound even dumber.  McCarthy will likely not be retained at the end of the year while Stefanski and Callahan SHOULD get another season each.  The beard isn’t an automatic loss (look at Sean McVay, Dan Campbell, Mike Tomlin, etc.) but it certainly hasn’t been kind to quite a few guys in charge.  A makeover may be in order.
