Well, that didn’t take long! Less than 24 hours after the Pacers held Media Day ahead of the start of training camp, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski dropped one of his patented “Woj Bombs” in regards to Caris LeVert:
Pacers guard Caris LeVert has a stress fracture in his back, but there’s optimism that it could only be a minor setback and he could return sometime around the start of the season, sources tell ESPN.

LeVert is coming off a season where he played in only 26 games with the Pacers after being diagnosed with kidney cancer following his trade from the Brooklyn Nets, a trade he credits with saving his life. In his 26 games, LeVert averaged over 20 points and 5 assists a game. Woj followed up with another tweet regarding LeVert:
More testing still to come on the stress fracture, but again, there’s optimism that it won’t cause LeVert to miss significant time.

While the hope is he won’t miss much time, it does nothing to calm Pacers fans who have seen the roster at less than 100% a vast majority of the time and through multiple coaching regimes. The Pacers and injuries seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly year in and year out. Hopefully, this is only a minor hiccup and we can see LeVert, Brogdon, Turner, Sabonis and others not only play together but play under Rick Carlisle. It would be a nice change of pace to see the roster at near full strength the majority of the season, something that hasn’t been the case for what feels like over a decade now.
