On Saturday, the Indiana University Hoosiers will play in front of a sell-out crowd against eighth ranked Cincinnati at Memorial Stadium.

The last time the Hoosiers played in front of a sellout crowd was Head Coach Tom Allen‘s first season against Michigan and Ohio State. Allen made his weekly appearance on the Dan Dakich Show Tuesday where he recapped his team’s victory over Idaho and previewed one of the biggest games in the program’s history against the Bearcats.

“There’s windows of opportunity that you’re presented with as an individual, as a team, as a program, and this is what I consider this. The word of the week is seize. We have to seize this opportunity. It’s in front of us, we got a top ten team coming to Bloomington, we got a sold out crowd, our fans are behind us, and we have to play our best football.” Allen says.

Through two games, Cincinnati’s senior quarterback Desmond Ridder has thrown for 538 yards, completed 72% of his passes, and only one interception. Despite only rushing for twenty-sevens yards thus far, Ridder has rushed for 500+ yards in each of his previous three seasons. Allen referred to Ridder as an “elite quarterback” during conversation with Dakich among other things.

“He can beat you with both his arms and his legs and he’s really really smart. He’s big, he’s tall, and it’s just one of those things where he doesn’t have a weakness that I’ve seen on film. Very very talented player, but to me the thing that scares me the most is his legs.”
