You can’t be surprised, can you?

Sports Illustrated did an article about the potential issues facing the four contenders in the Eastern Conference. The Pacers?

Not on the list.

Here’s what they had to say as to why:

“A quartet of teams have separated themselves as the premier contenders for the conference crown through 30 games, with the Raptors, Bucks, 76ers and Celtics snagging four of the top five seeds in the East as of Thursday night. With apologies to Indiana—and the continued brilliance of Victor Oladipo—each of the four aforementioned squads could very well find themselves in a June battle with Golden State, aiming to dismantle the Warriors quest for a three-peat.”

Well, since they sent their apologies, apparently it forgives their stupidity. The Pacers were the only other team outside the Celtics to put up any fight against LeBron last year.

They just smacked around the Bucks at home, and they maintained their head well above water without Victor Oladipo for 11 games.

If they have the Bucks and the young-injury-proned 76ers on there, then why couldn’t the Pacers?

And if you really get down to it, the Pacers are the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference right now.

Just more national media making the Pacers play their best Rodney Dangerfield.
