Vic Carucci from NFL.com joins The Fan Morning Show with Jeff and Big Joe to discuss the Bills. The Bills play the Colts tonight in the first preseason game and Jeff and Big Joe probe Carucci with Bills questions to see where they are as a team. Vic goes into the fact that the Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen needs to be a well oiled machine in order for the Bills offense to move down the field.

“What are some of the key additions that are going to help that offense in Buffalo?”

“Joe that was the emphasis of the off season by far. The idea was to build a supporting cast that could help Josh Allen. Before you can actually go to that you have to see where Josh is. The expectation, of course, the team has is that the guy they chose as seventh pick last year is going to make major strides this year. Those strides have to be made by him. As much as he can do to improve his game. As much as he has worked on in the off season to help with his mechanics. Especially, and you here it over and over again with Josh Allen, accuracy. That has to get better.”

“I was just about to ask you who is Josh Allen but it seems like we are all waiting to find out.”

“I mean what he is is an outstanding athlete. We saw that. Cannon arm. We saw that. A guy who is big but can run. We saw that. He needs to be more judicious on when he runs and how he runs. Those were the concerns there. That he needed to smarten up his movement because of exposure to injury. The other thing is seeing the field better and faster. All of those things avoid pulling the ball down and running when you shouldn’t. Again I think there is a lot to like, but does a guy improve his accuracy. Does that happen in the NFL? Guys you both know that the data says probably not.”
