JMV is joined by former WNBA star Lisa Leslie, and rapper Ice Cube as they discuss all things BIG3 including the league expanding to Indianapolis,  Lisa Leslie’s transition from fan to coach, and rules they wish the NBA would adopt.

Lisa Leslie on the transition from fan to now getting the opportunity to coach:

“Starting as a fan, and now having the opportunity to coach, I am happy to be a part of the big three. I think it is an amazing opportunity as we travel from these different cities. Starting out in Indianapolis for other young women and girls to see people like Nancy Lieberman and myself joining these men. But at the end of the day, it is not about our gender as much as it is about Xs and Os and about our passion for the game and competition.”

Ice Cube on the NBA potentially adopting the four point shot and other things:

“We will keep it as a specialty thing for our league as long as we can but what is great about having a league like this is that we can be first, we can try things, we can experiment with different rules. If the NBA sees something they like, hopefully they will adopt a thing or two. I wish they would adopt our free throw rules to be honest. Meaning, if you get fouled shooting a two pointer, you go to the free throw line, you shoot one shot, get two points. If you get fouled doing a three point shot, you go to the three point line and get one shot for three points. If you get fouled doing a four pointer, you step in the circle and you shoot one shot for four points. No one wants to see four free throws. To me, that is the one I think they should take. Free throws are boring and that is a way to speed the game up.”

The BIG3 is coming to Banker’s Life Fieldhouse in the month of June. The Ride with JMV is your home for all the latest news happening in sports all around the state of Indiana and all around the country!
