JMV continues his coverage of the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 with an interview with NBC Sports’ Robin Miller. With Pagenaud getting the big win, it could mean big things for his partnership with Penske. Miller also breaks down who impressed him most, including Conor Daly and Santino Ferrucci.

On what the win means for Pagenaud and Penske:

“This was more than a victory for Simon. It was a two year extension for his contract with Roger Penske. He swept the month of May and drove as good as you can drive and if you win the race for Roger, you get at least two more years. So yes, it saved his job and he was magnificent.”

On who impressed him during the race:

“Well Conor Daly was up to fourth and he did a really good job. And then he had a horrible restart and ended up tenth. It was as bad as he could’ve finished. Ferrucci was impressive. I like how during the big crash at turn three, he wasn’t exactly sure what to do. He just grabbed fourth gear and floored it and goes through the grass. You can tell he’s 20 years old.”

While the race is over, 1070 The Fan is not done giving you the latest IndyCar news, interviews, and analysis all throughout the year!
