Mike Chappell of FOX59 joins The Ride with JMV to discuss his thoughts on the NBA draft and NFL training camp. Mike goes in depth on why the NBA draft is more exciting than the NFL draft. Mike also discusses how he feels Colts’ training camp went and how he feels the Colts will fair this season.

“Why is the NBA draft more enjoyable than the NFL draft?”

“Well you say that but when I am watching the draft and I see a guy pull on a Toronto Raptors hat I’d like to know that he is going to be a Raptor. As opposed to well we’re taking this guy for this team because that is what just drives me crazy is this is who we’re taking but not really we’re taking somebody else. Just take your pick, this is whose on the clock. You know the Colts are taking Quentin Nelson at six and they’re not going to trade him to Cleveland. That’s my only beef with the NBA draft is I don’t understand why the heck these teams take players for other teams but that’s just an NFL guy where you get who you take.”

“Did we learn anything at all about Devin Funches in Colts’ minicamp?”

“We learned that he is going to speak his mind. That one day when he and Jacoby Versett had some not so nice words but that goes on. It’s funny how when that happens they’re either fiery or disgruntled and it just depends on how you look at it. The biggest detriment to Andrew Luck not being on the field at all in the offseason is no work with Funches.”
