BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Peyton Hendershot, a tight end on the Indiana Univertsity football team, has been arrested.

Arrest records from Bloomington police show Hendershot was booked into the Monroe County Jail on charges of felony residential entry along with misdemeanor domestic battery, and criminal mischief.

Police say Hendershot forced his way into his ex-girlfriends apartment, forced up against a wall, choked her, and tried to take her cell phone.

“Indiana University Athletics is aware of the arrest of redshirt sophomore Peyton Hendershot,” a school spokesperson said. “IU Athletics will continue to gather facts, cooperate with and monitor the legal and administrative processes, and take further action as the evolving situation warrants.”

Hendershot is a sophomore from North Salem, Indiana and played high school football at Tri-West Hendricks High School. He was a third-team all-Big Ten tight end for the Hoosiers last season.
