The smell of popcorn, hot dogs, and fresh cut grass can only mean one thing; MLB Opening Day is upon us!

A blank slate for 162 games worth of memories to fill our lives and take us through an incredible journey to October. It’s truly a magical time of year.

While we all have our favorite team, one of the most popular and loveable teams that draw support from across Indiana is the Chicago Cubs.

Yes, the Cubbies will always hold a strong place in the hearts of their die hard fans.

The plus side for them is that since the end of The Curse of the Billy Goat in 2016, the idea of any given year being THE YEAR for the Cubs isn’t an impossible feat.

Still, is this year really a season for Cubs fans to have hope? Or is it more of a transition year that will lead to brighter things in seasons to come?

To get answers to those questions and find out where expectations should be for Cubs fans, The Dan Dakich Show turned to Cubs beat reporter Jesse Rogers of ESPN.

Before the season really gets going, give a listen to Dan (a lifelong Cubs fan) and Jesse’s conversation so you can know what to expect from those loveable losers.

Don’t miss The Dan Dakich Show, weekdays 12-3pm Eastern, on 93.5 and 107.5 The Fan.
