Today marks 100 days out from the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500. On Friday’s Kevin and Query, Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles joined the show to talk about the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
The Indy 500 is full speed ahead after two years of unique circumstances due to the pandemic. The 100 Days Party is this weekend and Boles’ team is operating as though the Indy 500 will not have any capacity restraints due to COVID-19. Here’s what the president had to say:
“As far as we’re concerned, we’re full throttle on full capacity for May 29th for the 106th Running. At this point, we don’t even have a contingency team in place to start thinking about something different. Right now, 100 percent focus is on 100 percent capacity here at the Speedway so 350,000 plus.”
Boles also touched on the Snake Pit, specifically clarifying some of the rules surrounding the party zone this year, as well as Carb Day, the road course for NASCAR, the golf course and so much more.
