It’s been a heck of a week for the Indiana Hoosiers and it’s only Thursday.  The suspensions of five players: Xavier Johnson, Parker Stewart, Khristian Lander, Tamar Bates and Michael Durr came before Tuesday’s game against Northwestern.  Being short-handed the Hoosiers dropped said game to the lowly Wildcats 59-51, a game that should have been a win to pad their upcoming stretch.  Now the Hoosiers find themselves at 16-7 on the season, 7-6 in conference play and a tough stretch to wrap the season that includes Wisconsin, Ohio State and Purdue.

For the latest on the Hoosiers, Kevin & Query were joined by IndyStar reporter Dustin Dopirak to get his thoughts on the state of the team, his thoughts on the suspensions and the possibility that IU could miss yet another NCAA Tournament.

“If it were drug tests, they’d have to be suspended three games. So it doesn’t seem to be that so it appears to be Mike Woodson’s call.” – Dustin Dopirak on the suspensions of five IU players

Dopirak also noted that while he believes IU will make the tournament they could and should pad their final stretch of games with wins anywhere they can get them after letting the game against Northwestern get away.  They also debated the recent play of Trayce Jackson-Davis and the suddenly surging IU women.
