Following Indiana’s loss to Northwestern last night, the Hoosiers sit at 16-7 on the year and 7-6 in the Big Ten. While they don’t have any bad (Quad 3 or Quad 4) losses, their resume wins are highlighted by Purdue, Ohio State and Notre Dame (a team fighting for its tournament life as we speak).

As of right now, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi still has the Hoosiers in the field and doesn’t have them in any of those stressful Bubble Watch categories.

I would argue that there are plenty of opportunities remaining on the schedule for the Hoosiers to make the Big Dance. The team’s final seven games play out @Michigan State, vs Wisconsin, @Ohio State, vs Maryland, @Minnesota, vs Rutgers, and @Purdue.

If Indiana can manage to go 5-2 over that span, which isn’t a lock by any means, I think they can breath easy heading into Selection Sunday.

Wednesday on The Dan Dakich Show however, ESPN’s Seth Greenberg stressed that the Hoosiers might not be a NCAA Tournament team this year. Seth outlined the lack of quality wins, but did stress that Indiana does still control its own destiny to get into the Big Dance for the 1st time in 6 years.

Give Dan’s chat with Seth Greenberg a listen below, (which features plenty about the dominance of Purdue and the elite talent of Jaden Ivey), and don’t miss The Dan Dakich Show every weekday 12-3pm on The Fan.
