Indianapolis – After a disappointing season with 1st time Head Coach Nate Bjorkgren, the Pacers brought in one of the NBA’s most respected Head Coaches in Rick Carlisle to help push this team past the 1st round of the playoffs. 26 games into the 2021 season the Pacers are 10-16 and rank last in NBA attendance averaging only 13,135 fans per game. Fans have began to clamor for a fresh start and it seems like Pacers ownership has finally obliged. According to The Athletics’ Bob Kravitz and Shams Charania, the Pacers will look to trade some of the teams core members.
Co-Author of the article Bob Kravitz joined JMV on Tuesday to talk about who would most likely to be traded before the deadline:
“I think Levert is going to be moved. There are some people in the organization that are not enamored with his game. He’s a gifted scorer but it’s about all he can do. As far as who they are going to move among the bigs I think it will be whoever they can get a better deal for. The team I keep looking at is Golden State. They could really use a guy like Sabonis or Turner and they have a lot of young interesting guys like Wiseman and Kuminga that would fit here.”
With the trade deadline not until February 10, a trade may not be imminent but it seems like this Pacers core that has been together since 2017-2018 will soon be broken up in an effort to look towards young talent that will be able to raise the ceiling.
