Friday afternoon on The Dan Dakich Show, we had ourselves a doubleheader classic of both Dan vs Fan Week 5 and All Day or No Way!
On America’s Favorite Game, (we think that’s what they call Wheel of Fortune right)? Anyway, this week’s All Day or No Way had Jimmy Cook picking the brain of DD heading into the Monday Night Football clash between the Colts and Ravens.
1) Do you need to see Carson Wentz perform the way he did against the Dolphins versus a more capable team?
Dan’s analysis – ALL DAY.
DD explains that “all effing day” you need to see big performances out of not only Wentz, but guys like Darius Leonard, Zach Pascal, and more. You must beat the bad teams; Which they certainly did against Jacoby Brissett and company.
2) If the Colts lose on Monday, they will miss the playoffs.
Dan’s analysis – ALL DAY.
Not only is Dan all day on this, but he emphasizes that the AFC South is absolutely brutal. If the Colts lose to the Ravens, they start 1-4 and the smart money says the climb to getting to the playoffs would be supremely difficult. But if they win, you are 2-3 and you have all of these games against division opponents where you need wins. The Colts have to sweep both Jacksonville and Houston.
The division stinks. Dan doesn’t believe Trevor Lawrence is “a guy” yet. He explained that Derrick Henry is the only force elsewhere in the divison.
3) If Lamar Jackson runs for more than 60 yards, the Colts will lose on Monday.
Dan’s analysis – ALL DAY.
Jackson has been averaging 70 yards on the ground per game. More importantly, he can’t rush for first downs. You need to lock things down on third down plays. Dan believes that if he rushes for more than four first downs, Frank Reich’s team has a serious problem.
