Edgerrin James is a more patient man than most of us.
Not only did it take until 2020 to get James a spot beside immortality in Canton, Ohio, but his induction will now take place a year later. Even better, he’ll get in right next to Peyton Manning.
The new Indianapolis Colts hall-of-famer jumped on The Ride with JMV Tuesday afternoon to give us a scoop of what’s to come this weekend.
And even though James had been forced to wait a year for his moment, he wasn’t too concerned.
“They could have said we’re going to put you into the hall in 2027 and I would have just gone through life,” James said. “I think that’s the part that frustrates people. But I said whenever it happens, it will. And I’m going to make the most out of it. Numerically as far as statistics, there’s no way you can deny it. It was just a matter of when.”
He certainly isn’t wrong.
The Indianapolis culture helped build James. And in turn, he helped manufacture the future.
