You know how it goes on The Dan Dakich Show.

We had another monster on Friday. And it sure didn’t disappoint.

Just as J. Michael from the IndyStar reported that Lloyd Pierce will be joining the Indiana Pacers as Rick Carlisle’s top assistant, and Butler Bulldog great Ronald Nored will also be on the staff next season, we had to cover it all with Big Rick.

Carlisle was kind enough to spend some time with DD and dove into how the bench will operate next year.

“You have to find people that have a great passion and knowledge of the game,” Carlisle said. “Ronald has a great feel for analytics and is good with relationships. I was interested in hiring him last year in Dallas, but I couldn’t. So this year I jumped in the position to do so. And Lloyd is a very special guy. They went through a turbulent period with injuries in Atlanta. I know Lloyd’s basketball ability and have seen a lot of guys get better under his direction.”

Pierce’s time as the head coach with the Atlanta Hawks will surely add some grit to the locker room. And speaking of grit, not many in this game have more of that than Nored.

Fans of Butler’s two Final Four teams know that very well.

Stone cold against the Spartans.
