It shouldn’t be very difficult for Indiana University Athletic Director Scott Dolson.

In fact, the decision of who will succeed Archie Miller as the next head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers should be one of the easiest choices he will ever have to make.

At least that’s how it should play out in Dan Dakich’s eyes.

On The DD Show Monday afternoon, Dan laid it all out for his listeners.

“Personally I’m hiring (Steve) Alford,” DD said. “I’m hiring somebody that has direct ties and understands Indiana University Men’s Basketball. There’s very few of us who truly do. And there isn’t a person alive who has studied it more than me. That’s why I said this was never going to work with Archie. I understand what the hell needs to be done at Indiana. It’s time we put somebody in there who understands it.”

Point. Set. Match.

One issue though. It sounds like Alford is pretty happy in his current situation with the Nevada Wolf Pack.

And for those asking for Brad Stevens. Well, he’s clearly at the top of the totem pole.

“If I’m Brad I better start thinking about this,” DD added. “This is a little different though than it was four years ago. If they call, Brad better listen. This job does not come open all the time.”

Then there’s the wild cards.

John Beilein? He’s currently sitting at the Big Ten Network studio desk.

Jay Wright? It would take a pretty penny to lure him away from Philly. His suits aren’t cheap either.

Rick Pitino? Oh boy…
