The Victor Oladipo era of the Indiana Pacers is over.

And Dan Dakich digs the trade.

To open his show on Thursday, DD laid out that it was time for Oladipo to go and why Caris LeVert is a huge pickup for the Blue and Gold.

“LeVert can absolutely ball,” DD said. “Plus another diva has left the city. First it was Paul George, and now it’s Oladipo. J Michael’s story on Oladipo wanting out of town was no doubt accurate. And it shows that everything you saw externally from Vic was a fraud. This is great for the Pacers.”

For possibly the second time, Kevin Pritchard might have just pulled off a deal where the player he traded may not even be with that team six months later. With Oladipo’s contract expiring after this year, will this be similar to Paul George leaving Oklahoma City after they acquired him?

The best part is if Oladipo ends up walking from Houston, it exemplifies even more that this was the correct decision.

This summer was really weird.

Between the initial announcement that he wasn’t playing in the bubble, to the J. Michael story, to the Fat Joe Instagram lives, it was just odd. But now it’s onward and upward for Nate Bjorkgren’s crew.

“(Dan’s son) Andrew played with Caris and he loved him the whole time at Michigan,” DD added. “I love everything about this trade. You got a better player and someone who fits here. Plus why would the Pacers want to have someone that doesn’t want to be here and is on the downside of his career?”

It’s unclear when LeVert will actually join Indiana, as they’re on their western road swing.
