INDIANAPOLIS – Andrew Luck started a busy week of practice on Sunday morning by tossing 33 passes in team drills—tying the most he has thrown this camp.

After a couple of days away from throwing, following Thursday’s preseason opener, Luck had an extensive day on the practice field at Grand Park.

The quarterback was 22-of-33 throwing, going 16-of-27 during 11-on-11 work. Luck battled through at least a trio of drops from his pass catchers.

Sunday’s practice ended with a pair of two-minute drills. Luck and the starting offense were stopped on the first drill, but did get a field goal after the second one.

In returning to practice, Luck has stated that he still wants to make improvements with his accuracy down the field, along with nailing down the timing with his newer weapons.

Following Sunday’s morning practice in full pads, T.Y. Hilton pointed to Luck’s leadership as the biggest thing he’s noticed in the quarterback’s return.

“You see him in the meeting rooms and in the locker room, making sure guys are in the right spots, knowing their plays,” Hilton said of Luck.

One aspect with the skill players that Luck will need to discover going forward is developing rapport with another receiver, after Deon Cain tore his ACL.

At Sunday’s practice, Luck completed balls to his top 3 wideouts (Hilton, Ryan Grant and Chester Rogers) but no other receiver caught a ball from No. 12.

Luck will throw in each of the 5 remaining practices for the Colts at Grand Park: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He is expected to play into the second quarter of next Monday’s
